What’s it like living in Virginia?

I am 17 and I live in NY and I wanted to go to college in VA and afterwards move into an apartment in VA. Something about VA is just amazing. I love it there I feel like my heart belongs there. I visited VA when I was younger a long time ago and don’t really remember much about it except that it was hot as hell and loved it esp the beach! So I wanted to ask Does anyone here live in VA? Do you like it? what about the people, are they nice? If you don’t mind answering what part of VA are you from? Most importantly do you need a car to go everywhere?

I’ve been to VA many times because my moms side of the family lives there. This is what I’ve felt from being there:

1. Lots of cool places to go to
2. Beautiful scenery.
3. Horrible traffic, at ALL (and I mean ALL) hours of the day.
4. Very humid during the summer.
5. Doesn’t snow, and if it does its a “dusting”
6. Lots of smokers
7. Genuinely nice people

Very beautiful state, but there are a lot of things I could do without..

Interior designs of the hotel are sophisticated. Apart from this, the ocean view is truly breathtaking. For those who want to stay indoors, the hotel has a spa/massage facility, wireless Internet access, a gift shop and a restaurant.

For those who are seeking for an outdoor adventure, they have a jogging track, bicycling track and two outdoor pools for both adults and children. Pets are allowed in their premises but for a fee. Valet parking is available for free. The parking lot is so spacious and it even has guaranteed security day and night.

There is no worries when it comes to security,. They have a surveillance camera that covers the whole area of the hotel. There are also uniformed security personnel scattered around the area round the clock.

Econo Lodge

If you are on a budget, visit the Econo Lodge Beach Front. It is located at 2707 Atlantic Ave. Virginia Beach. It is a beach front three-star hotel and only fifteen miles away from the Norfolk International Airport. It is a three-storey modern building with thirty eight rooms with exterior corridors but with no elevator.

Their room amenities include cable/satellite television, broadband Internet access, a safe, microwave, coffeemaker and daily maid service. Newspapers are complimentary and given out daily every morning. Furthermore, the hotel offers photocopy services, an outdoor heated pool, a restaurant, and free use of a bicycle. Guests can also use the library for free.

Strictly no pets are allowed in the hotel premises. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but there are nearby dining options such as Frankie’s, Il Gardinio’s, Jewish Mother, and Rudee’s. Seashore National Park is also just one-half mile away.

La Quinta Inn and Suites

If you just need a place to stay and you are willing to enjoy more outdoor activities, try the La Quinta Inn and Suites. It is located at 2800 Pacific Ave. Virginia Beach.

The beach is just a block away. Its location is very strategic in a sense that other establishments are just nearby such as the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, Naval Air Station Oceana as well as Virginia Beach Convention Center, Ocean Breeze Waterpark and other malls.

Rooms are spacious. Amenities include cable/satellite television, a kitchen, refrigerator, mini-bar, and broadband Internet access. The hotel also caters to car rentals, health club, an indoor pool and outdoor heated pool as well as a jogging track, game room, fitness center, and a hot tub. It is also pet-friendly.

Have you considered finding someone looking for a roommate?
